Who is Brandon Sherrod?
Brandon Sherrod was a NEPSAC first team selection at Choate Rosemary Hall and the 2010 Connecticut Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior at Stratford High School. He was also named the CHSCA and New Haven Register state player of the year in 2010. As a two-time all-state selection, Sherrod Averaged 16 points, 14.5 rebounds and six blocks as a senior. He also recorded six triple doubles and holds the Stratford High School record for blocked shots.
Upon leaving Stratford High School, he helped lead Choate to the NEPSAC Class A championship continuing his winning legacy from two state championships won at Stratford High. This includes a school-record 46 straight league victories. In 2016 Sherrod helped Yale to its first Ivy League Championship since 1964 and assisted in bringing the programs first victory in the NCAA tournament ever. As a senior Sherrod was named 1st Team All-Ivy and set the NCAA Division-1 record for most consecutive field goals made (30). Since college, he has enjoyed a 6-year career playing basketball overseas in Italy, Finland and Israel. He plans to someday return to his hometown of Bridgeport, Connecticut to run for mayor.
